Margo McDonnell has been leading 1031 CORP. since 1994 and is a Certified Exchange Specialist® with nearly three decades of experience in the 1031 exchange industry. Her expertise spans a wide range of exchange transactions involving both real and personal property, including delayed, reverse, and improvement exchanges. Margo is an active educator, frequently conducting seminars and continuing education courses on the benefits of 1031 tax-deferred exchanges. She has played a significant role in the 1031 exchange industry, notably in initiating a national certification and continuing education program for exchange practitioners. She was the founding chair of the Certified Exchange Specialist® Certification Council of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA) and served on the FEA Board of Directors for nearly twenty years, including a term as president. Margo has received several honors, including the first FEA President’s Award in 2003 and a namesake award for outstanding service in 2008. She holds an MBA from Villanova University, is the affiliate director of the Tri-County Suburban REALTORS®, and serves on the Advisory Council of their Commercial Chapter. In 2016, she was invited to join The Counselors of Real Estate.
