Lee David Medinets, Esq., CES® serves as the Chief Counsel for Madison Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC and its affiliates, including Madison 1031. In this role, he oversees all legal aspects of §1031 like-kind exchange transactions, along with handling tax, real estate, insurance regulation, and corporate issues. Prior to his current position, Mr. Medinets spent over 20 years in private practice, specializing in real estate, small businesses, municipal land use, and §1031 exchanges. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor from the University of Santa Clara. Mr. Medinets is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey. He is a recognized speaker and writer on §1031 exchanges, holds the Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES®) designation, and actively participates in several committees of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators, including the CES® Council and Tax Advisory Board.
